In lovely Nice, one sees the sun on average, 300 days a year. Due to the incredible amount of sunshine as well as Nice’s relaxed living style, artists and writers have been attracted to the city for years. Names such as Dumas, Nietzsche, Apollinaire, Flaubert, Victor Hugo, George Sand, Stendhal, Chateaubriand, and Mistral can attest to Nice’s welcoming atmosphere.  Henri Matisse, as well, made his home in Nice, and in fact, a wonderful museum within the city is dedicated solely to his works.

Nice’s enchanting sites to behold consist of a true myriad of aspects, reflecting the Nice's multi-dimensional character. With a rich density of museums and galleries, Nice does not disappoint the artistically intrigued. The Theatre de la Photographie de l’Image and, of course, the Matisse Museum are encouraged to be visited. In terms of Nice’s architecture, the Russian Cathedral, completed in 1912, just prior to the Russian Revolution may be the most dynamic site. With such an array of destinations and attractions, Nice will not disappoint.
