The city of Lyon, is an enchanting destination rich with history and spirit of tradition, yet offering today’s luxuries of convenience, fine dining and entertainment. With its Gallo Roman Remains to modern architecture, with Renaissance and Gothic styles in between, Lyon is a well preserved treasure trove of history.  During the time of the Renaissance, Lyon was home to highly prosperous districts, where important families built marvelous mansions adorned in Florentine hues.  Hotel Gadagne is now where Lyon’s History Museum, as well as where the international puppet museum can be found.

A gastronomic center, Lyon's deeply rooted cuisine traditions have carried on to our enjoyment today.  Here, food is celebrated and rightfully so, as Lyon’s products are representative of the region’s finest: Bresse poultry, fruit from les Monts du Lyonnais, vegetables from Ain plain and cheeses from Dauphiné and Ardèche.

Lyon’s location is fantastic, only a two hour train ride from Paris, it is ideally located at Europe’s crossroads. Absolutely ideal in the winter time, Lyon is only about a half an hour from the most fantastic ski areas in the world.

We conclude our tour of Lyon after nightfall, as the entire city experiences a fantastic transformation.  Since 1989, artistic illuminations have highlighted over 200 buildings and public sections of Lyon.  A breathtaking site to witness, Lyon’s nocturnal beauty alone seems enough to entice visitors to this lovely destination.
